We tend to think that life will be better after we get married, have a baby, then another. Then we are frustrated that the kids aren't old enough and we'll be more content when they are. After that we're frustrated that we have teenagers to deal with. We will certainly be happy when they are out of that stage.

We always tell ourselves that our life will be complete when we have a large house, get an expensive car, and are able to go on a nice vacation. The truth is that there's no better time than right now. If not now, when? Our life will always be filled with challenges. It's best to admit this to ourselves and deciede to be happy anyway.

One of my favourite quotes comes from Alfred Souza. He said, "For a long time it had seemed to me that life was about to begin. But there was always some obstacle in the way, something to be gotten ghrough first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, a debt to be paid.... At last it dawned on me that these things were my real life." This perspective has helped me to see that there is no way to happiness. Happiness is the way. So, treasure every moment that you have. And remember that time waits for no one. So stop waiting until you finish school, until you start work; until you get married, until you have kids; until you retire, until you are born again to decide that there is no better time than right now to be happy...

Happiness is a journey, not a destination. So, work like you don't need money, love like you've never been hurt, and dance like no one's watching.

No one wants to die. Even people who want to go to heaven don't want to die to get there. And yet death is the destination we all share. No one has ever escaped it. And that is as it should be, because death is very likely the single best invention of life. It is life's change agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new. Right now the new is you, but someday not too long from now, you will gradually become the old and be cleared away.

Our time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma -- which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow our heart and intuition. They somehow already know what we truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.
